Families are invited to save their seat for summer in Seattle JazzED’s upcoming music camps.

With options for students in grades 4-12, programs are offered on a sliding scale with free loaner instruments for all musicians.

The organization is hosting a week-long music camp for beginners at Rainier Prep School in mid-July.

Summer Jazz Foundations Camp
July 10-14 | Grades 4-8 | Location: Rainier Prep School
Learn to play an instrument in one week! Pick your instrument, begin reading music and learn to play songs in a beginning band. Designed for students with little to no experience!

Femme Jazz Summer Camp
July 17-21 | Grades 6-12| Location: Seattle JazzED’s South Lake Union site
Build community in a supportive learning environment and gain confidence singing, playing and improvising freely. Femme musicians and vocalists are welcome to join and should have at least one year on their instrument. High school instrumentalists can support in the program as mentors!

Summer Second Line Project
July 24-28 | Grades 6-12| Location: Seattle JazzED’s South Lake Union site
Get your funk on! This fun and festive camp is inspired by the long time New Orleans second line tradition. Students who participate in this program perform in the city-wide Torchlight Parade in downtown Seattle.

Summer Jazz Ambassadors
July 31-Aug 11 | Grades 5-12| Location: Seattle JazzED’s South Lake Union site
Designed for students with a broad range of experience, this camp combines performance training with community outreach. Performances in the community hosted across the neighborhood in the second week.

Summer Jazz Lab
Aug 14-18 | Grades 9-12 | Location: Seattle JazzED’s South Lake Union site
Join your fellow jazz enthusiasts, lean on your aural skills, and hone your improvisation technique.
