A small group of Gregory Heights neighbors are planning a makeover project for the traffic triangle located at SW 160th at 4th Ave SW (map below), and they need some help.

These community-minded folks are applying for a neighborhood grant offered by the City of Burien in order to beautify this public space. Keeping in mind sight restrictions and guidelines provided by the City of Burien, Gregory Heights neighbor Linda Dike has come up with a beautiful plan for transforming that space.

The group needs additional volunteer support for the actual work (keeping in mind the deadline for completion is Dec. 31, 2023), as well as local landscapers or nurseries willing to donate expertise and/or materials.

The city matches the volunteer hours ($37.63 per hour for each person, and higher for any professional who volunteered time); as well as any materials donated up to a maximum of $5,000.

Fellow organizer DeDe McConnell is hoping there are more neighbors out there who’d like to collaborate with them in creating a beautiful space as you head up SW 160th Street to the Gregory Heights and Burien neighborhoods.
