The City of Burien will be adopting a new Sign Code, and here’s the latest update courtesy the Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce:

We are happy to report that the current update to the sign code does allow for up to 6 A-Frame signs for Open Houses, which was  a chief concern from our members working in residential real estate.

Finally, next steps:

  • May 6: The City Council will review the proposed changes
  • May 20: The Council may adopt the changes-depending on the scope of feedback the Council receives on Monday

If, after reviewing the changes, residents who still have comments, questions, or concerns can email the council directly at [email protected]. Your email will be received by all Councilmembers and included in the Correspondence to the Council, which is updated weekly with correspondence received between Wednesday at noon to Wednesday at noon.

The deadline for entering your correspondence into the record is Wednesday at noon prior to a Council meeting.

Please note that any correspondence sent to the Council is a public record.

Or, you can email Andrea Reay and she can forward on your behalf if you wish to remain anonymous.

You can also attend the council meeting on Monday May 6 at 7 p.m. and provide public comment at the meeting.
