An unmanned Boston Whaler boat was circling off Normandy Park late Friday afternoon, Aug. 24.
The Coast Guard told KOMO News that a teen was in the boat doing very sharp turns when he fell overboard. He was able to get to shore safely.
Resident Ron Laiminger told The B-Town Blog that the boat had been circling since around 4 p.m.
“Also I saw the same boat yesterday (Thursday) doing circles in the same area playing around with someone on a Jet Ski,” Laiminger added.
The Coast Guard was on the scene, and a man was able to jump onto the boat and stop it at around 6:30 p.m. before towing it away, most likely to the Des Moines Marina.
