A King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) investigation has led to the arrest of a man who has since been charged with felony sexual exploitation of a minor, according to police.
The sheriff’s office said a deputy met earlier this month with a young woman who reported she had been the victim of a sexual offense.
According to investigators, the suspect befriended the young woman in a store, gave her food, and later threatened her while she was in his vehicle.
The deputy, working with other members of the team, located and arrested the suspect after he returned to the scene in South King County, according to the sheriff’s office.
Investigators said the suspect was on federal probation as a registered sex offender at the time of his arrest.
KCSO contracts its police services to the City of Burien, as well as 15 other jurisdictions.
Police did not disclose the specific location of the incident beyond saying it occurred in South King County.
The suspect was booked into the King County Jail. The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged him with felony sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the sheriff’s office.
“More great work from the field takes another sexual predator off the streets,” police said in a statement.
