What was initially reported as a possible hit-and-run near SW 116th Street and 1st Avenue South in Burien (map below) on Tuesday afternoon, June 24, 2025 turned out not to involve a vehicle, officials said.

Fire crews and King County Medic One responded to a 911 call around 3:11 p.m. and found an unconscious woman lying on the ground.

The caller believed the incident may have involved a vehicle, but first responders determined there were no witnesses and no clear evidence of a collision.

The woman, who has not been identified, was transported to St. Anne Hospital in Burien for further evaluation.

Emergency crews reported she had a laceration on her head, but it remains unclear whether the injury was caused by a fall or another type of medical emergency.

“It doesn’t sound like there was a vehicle involved in the incident, that was speculation on the part of the person that called 911 as no witnesses to the event were present; the patient was found lying on the ground,” Ray Desmarais, Assistant Chief/Fire Marshal for King County Fire District #2 told The B-Town Blog.

The patient’s condition has not been released, and no further details were immediately available.
