Your Daily Dose of Natural Beauty, courtesy Advertiser Zenith Holland Nursery – Another view of Osteospermum:
Don’t these two look different? Indeed, we were surprised to find the there is a rather wide variety of Osteospermum in a myriad of colors and as it turns out petals shapes. The typical African daisy tends to have a flat petal and a clear distinct center, but as you see there are some very interesting variations including those that have spoon-shaped petals.
Another surprising note is that according to Better Homes and Gardens, “Osteospermum has only been in trade since the early ’90s, making it a fairly recent addition to the horticultural world.” Jeepers! Who knew? The blooms seem so familiar they appear to be timeless.
