The King County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that the suspect in the brutal rape and assault of an 83-year old woman on Thursday, July 20 has been arrested (read our previous coverage here).

Police Officers from the University of Washington arrested the suspect without incident shortly after 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 22. The UW Officers contacted the man after being called by transit security regarding a male causing a disturbance on a light rail platform at the UW Station. When the officers contacted the man, they learned of the warrant that had been issued by the Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) related to this case.

  1. This guy needs to be put away for a very long time. It will be interesting to see what charges are brought as far as the degree, that will determine the sentencing range, hoping it’s all first degree and he gets the maximum. Nice work catching him KCSO and U of W PD!

  2. Yes. And if by “a very long time” you mean “forever,” I’m totally with you. This kind of brutality against a frail, helpless and utterly vulnerable elderly person is hard to fathom or stomach. Her pain and terror, and the agony her family is surely going through, break my heart.

    1. PJ And Shari, you both have said it very well. I can’t help but wonder whom else he has brutalized. If he is sick, it is still a terrible crime and he must be prevented from hurting others. Prayers and well wishes to this lady and her family.
