REMINDER: Burien’s annual Empty Bowls fundraiser will be held at the Burien Community Center this Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, with two servings:

    • LUNCH: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
    • DINNER: 4 – 8 p.m.

“Join us for a meal and help fight hunger in our community!”

This is such a great community fundraiser that even noted stand-up comedian, actor, voice actor, and writer Patton Oswalt has shown interest in attending, as evidenced in his Tweet that features Burien’s own celeb Rochelle Flynn – retired Parks employee and occasional Director at Burien Actors Theatre – serving up soup at a previous Empty Bowls event:

(we’ll save you a bowl and a seat Patton!)

NOTE: If you’re not familiar with Patton, here’s his brilliant “Star Wars Citizen Filibuster” scene from season 5 of “Parks & Rec”:

Empty Bowls events can be found around the country raising money to combat hunger in our communities.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the Highline Area and White Center Food Banks.

Moshier Art Center Potters have donated bowls to be filled with soup at this fun event… all are invited!

Your donation will get you the opportunity to pick out a beautiful handmade bowl, as well as a simple but wonderful meal of soup, bread, dessert and drink; donated by local businesses.

Minimum Donation: $20 Adults / $10 Children
