A pedestrian was injured Wednesday afternoon, July 15 after being struck by a pickup truck on westbound SR 518 in Burien, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).

The collision was reported at 2:54 p.m. Wednesday near SR 518 and 8th Street (map below), according to a WSP press memo.

  • A pedestrian was crossing the roadway from the right shoulder to the left shoulder.
  • The vehicle struck the pedestrian and came to rest in the second lane.
  • The pedestrian was injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center.
  • The roadway was blocked for 35 minutes.

The vehicle involved was listed as a white 2021 Chevrolet Silverado pickup with reportable damage.

Involvement of drugs or alcohol were listed as unknown.
