Supporters of BAT Theatre will have the chance to browse an eclectic collection of unusual artwork while helping fund community theater during the annual Abandoned Art Gala on Saturday, July 18.

According to BAT Theatre, Jim and Robyn Todd are once again donating all proceeds from the fundraiser to the theater. The event will run from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Todds’ driveway and garage at 3910 S. 192nd Street in SeaTac (map below).

Organizers describe the Abandoned Art Gala as an outdoor event featuring an assortment of unconventional artwork collected from a variety of sources.

“With a bit of help from friends, we have restocked and plan to show even more questionable art this year!” the organizers said in an announcement. “So please come and prepare to perhaps say to yourself, ‘that’s weird!’”

According to BAT Theatre, many of the pieces have been renamed or modified, while others remain largely unchanged. All of the artwork will be available to take home in exchange for a donation benefiting the theater.

The organizers also encouraged community members to contribute unusual artwork they no longer want.

“If you have any off kilter art clogging your closet, let us know because we’re good at recycling!” the announcement said.

In addition to purchasing artwork, visitors may also stop by simply to make a donation in support of BAT Theatre.
