“You’ll never get tired of our menu!”
That’s the promise from Frank Genzale, Sr. and cousin Frank Yellam, Jr. (pictured above), long-time Burienites and the owners of B-Town’s newest find for truly fresh and authentic Italian food – Frankie’s B-Town Bistro.
They plan to change their menu frequently based on what is seasonally available. Sure, you’ll find some dishes that will always be available like classic pizzas and pastas, but others will depend on what’s fresh-right now. Because the dishes served at the restaurant are inspired from the ingredients that come directly from “Frank’s Quality Produce,” which has offered the highest quality farm fresh produce and customer service at the Pike Place Market since 1928. Their two families hold the distinction of being fourth generation farmers right here in Burien, until airport expansion finally moved them off the family farmland just off Des Moines Memorial Way.
Now, Genzale, Sr. continues that tradition at the market and joins forces with Yellam, Jr. to make Frankie’s B-Town Bistro twice as Frankie-licious.
Like many families, the Genzales and the Yellams came to America in search of a better life. When they found Burien, they felt like they had never left their beloved Italy and began growing their fruit and vegetables.
The two cousins were raised on the farm together working side-by-side along with their parents and enjoying the simple, yet demanding life of farming. They helped sell their produce at the World Famous Pike Place Market, at the Burien Saturday Market, and at the Garden Patch at Vacca’s Famous Pumpkin Patch.
So, when they say they know fresh, they have the provenance to back it up.
“It’s our mission to bring our guests the freshest possible ingredients since we know freshness means flavor,” Genzale said, adding “we want diners to experience what we had growing up…food straight from farm to table!”
Genzale and Yellam are passionate about offering sustainable seafood, premium meats and poultry, and of course they will hand select every fruit and vegetable that comes in their doors. But along with their commitment to the food, they are passionate about offering something more… the culture and variety of Italian dining.
“There are so many Italian dishes most Americans never get to try.” they say, “We want to create those flavors here, for our neighbors to discover.”
In Italy, meals are shared with family and friends in a relaxed, lingering style, perfect for fun and conversation. To that end, they have designed a homey, warm and open space where guests can settle in and feel right at home. Tobbaco and terracotta hued walls are covered with dozens of historic family photos depicting an Italian heritage in Burien that goes way back.
Along with their very own tribute to Bocce complete with a championship trophy:
Frankie’s officially opened on Tuesday May 26, to an opening crowd that dubbed their seared scallops a “must try.”
The restaurant is open everyday except Monday starting at 3:30 p.m. for Happy Hour, followed by dinner service at 5 p.m.
They invite all their friends from Burien and beyond to have a seat at the table, taste the finest food and experience unsurpassed service.
