After 38 years as a police officer – with 14 of those years as the Chief of Police for the City of Burien – Chief K. Scott Kimerer celebrated his last day on the job on Thursday, Aug. 31.
Kimerer was honored with a reception at the Burien Community Center on Thursday.
“Chief Kimerer is a compassionate servant-leader and did so many positive things for this community,” Capt. Bryan Howard said. “He got a nice send off from his colleagues and can now focus on perfecting his golf game. We sincerely wish him the best retirement!”

Congratulations, Chief!
Congratulation, Scott, on a great career in law enforcement. You have done a great job in Burien and will be missed. Ironically August 31, 2017 is also my retirement day. I only had 31 years as a Teamster so I guess I am a rookie compared to you. Enjoy your new life.
