At 8:38 a.m. Saturday morning, Dec. 2, 2023, an assault occurred near Military Road S. and S. 164th Street in SeaTac that resulted in a police/SWAT standoff with a barricaded suspect.

SeaTac Police / King County Sheriff’s Office said the victim was reported to have been assaulted with a firearm, but was not shot, before the suspect fled the scene.

Officers attempted to locate the suspect, who was determined to be around S. 161st Street & 49th/51st Ave S. in Tukwila (map below).

A SWAT Team checked the neighborhood for the suspect, before finding him cornered inside a residence. A Crisis Negotiation Team developed a dialogue with him, which eventually got the suspect to surrender at 12:45 p.m.

The suspect is an approximately 48-year-old male.

The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

This case is active and open, and KCSO Major Crimes and SeaTac PD Detectives will continue to investigate it.
