Fire crews from King County Fire District #2 responded back to 15111 8th Ave SW in Burien (map below) on Monday, Dec. 4, 2023 for what is being investigated as an arson by the King County Fire Investigation Unit.

This office building houses a Department of Corrections (DOC) office space, as well as other businesses/entities.

As we previously reported, on Nov. 28, 2023, four DOC vehicles were burned at the same location in what is suspected to be an arson as well.

“The fire today occurred in a breezeway, with no direct tie to any one office,” Ray Desmarais, KCFD #2 Assistant Chief/Fire Marshal told The B-Town Blog. “Evidence collected at today’s fire will be compared to evidence from last week’s fire to see if there are any correlations. At this point any connection would be purely speculative.”

Damage to the space was minor as fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames. Ventilating the building of smoke proved to be a more arduous task on this response.

There were no injuries reported.

$10,000 Reward(s) Offered

The King County Sheriff’s Office is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest in today’s incident. That same reward is being offered for last week’s fire as well.
