If you’ve been wondering what’s going with the Tin Theater, which darkened its screen and closed its doors in January, 2022, here’s the scoop – a new business owned by Shannon Koszyk, with the motto ‘Fortune Favors the Bold’ has taken it over, and officially opened on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.

Owner Koszyk (pictured below, left) is now selling her original jewelry, clothing and accessories out of what was once the front bar on the west side of the Tin Room Bar & Theater building at 923 SW 152nd Street in Olde Burien.

Where once film buffs could quaff cocktails and other adult beverages or grab a bite before seeing a movie, now sit cases and displays showing off handmade, very unique, original jewelry and other products.

Where a bar once sat is now a counter full of original jewelry at Shannon Koscyk’s shop at the former Tin Theater bar space in Olde Burien.

“I love art, music and design and find all of it intoxicating,” Koszyk said. “I am inspired by music daily, it’s my muse, my medicine and my therapy. I am an advocate of real, I love raw honesty and I love imperfections, it’s what makes us interesting. I love a good juxtaposition, the yin and yang of life. There is a balance, it’s like a dance. I’m interested in what grabs our attention, what resonates and inspires us. History and architecture inspire me every day. More to come, constantly learning and I always feel like I’m just getting started.”
