After six years of serving the Burien community, The Shoppe Seahurst has announced it will permanently close its doors in Olde Burien this coming Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024.
The decision follows the collapse of a sale deal with a potential buyer who was initially seen as a perfect fit.
“While we are bummed at the outcome, it doesn’t change what these past 6 years meant to us and what we feel about the community we have created here in Burien,” owner Beka Atwood said.
The Shoppe, known for its curated collection of artisanal goods including lotions, candles, cheeses, and more, has been a local favorite.
The business will hold a final blowout sale through Saturday, Aug. 24, with all items, including store fixtures, offered at 50% off.
The owner expressed gratitude for the support of the Burien community, thanking customers for welcoming her and sharing memories within the space.
“Thank you for welcoming me into your homes, for sharing our gifts and taking the time to slow down and laugh and talk to your neighbors and new friends,” Atwood said. “Thank you for sharing your time with me. Thank you for supporting my dream so I can say I did it, and loved it.”
The store’s final sale will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day through Saturday, leading up to the closure.
“You all mean so much to me. Thank you. Xx,” Atwood added.
