The Burien and SeaTac Police Departments are inviting local teens to participate in a free Teen Community Police Academy scheduled for July 13–July 17, 2026.
The program will run each day from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Burien Police Department, located at 14905 6th Ave SW in Burien (map below).
The five-day academy is open to youth ages 14 to 17 who either live in or attend school in Burien or SeaTac.
Participants must have their own transportation to and from the Burien Police Department, attend all five days and have no criminal history, according to the department.
The program will introduce participants to a range of law enforcement topics, including patrol procedures, SWAT, K9 units, the Air Support Unit and AFIS, along with other aspects of police work.
Organizers said the academy is free to join, and applications are due by June 29.
The program is designed to engage youth from across South King County communities, including Burien, SeaTac, Des Moines, Tukwila, Normandy Park, White Center, Kent and Auburn.
For more information, the Burien Police Department said questions can be directed to Community Service Officer Wilson at michiko.wilson@kingcounty.gov or (206) 255-5528.
