Burien Police deputies arrested multiple individuals overnight during proactive patrols and traffic enforcement operations across the city, according to the Burien Police Department.

Deputies reported making several arrests tied to suspended licenses, outstanding warrants and a protection order violation during a series of traffic stops and patrol contacts between Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

At about 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, a deputy conducted a traffic stop in downtown Burien and found the driver was operating a vehicle with a suspended license in the second degree, police said. The driver was arrested and taken to jail.

During the same stop, deputies contacted a passenger after observing the person was not wearing a seatbelt. After identifying the passenger, deputies learned the individual had an outstanding DUI warrant. The passenger also was arrested and booked into jail, according to police.

Later, at around 11 p.m., deputies on routine patrol spotted a vehicle without license plates occupied by two people. Police said unlicensed vehicles are often associated with stolen vehicle activity, prompting deputies to investigate further.

During the contact, deputies discovered the two individuals were subject to a protection order involving each other. Police detained the responding party in the order and later confirmed the individual also had felony warrants for second degree theft and second degree escape. The subject was arrested and booked into jail.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. Thursday morning, May 7, deputies conducted another traffic stop and learned the driver had a felony warrant for first degree escape out of the King County Sheriff’s Office. The driver was taken into custody and transported to jail, police said.

“Proactive patrols and traffic enforcement continue to play an important role in locating wanted subjects and keeping our community safe,” the Burien Police Department said in a statement.
