UPDATE: Here is a heartwarming update to the tragic Ross Store collision that happened in Burien on Dec. 16, 2019, when 11 people were injured including a 2-year old boy and his grandfather.

The 2-year old boy has five breaks – three in his right leg that were operated on, one in the pelvis which was plastered, another in the right rib, a fissure in the liver and vessel blows throughout his body.

The 47-year old grandfather has a break in his left leg, minor cracks in the spine from the high-speed blows all over his body, and they are waiting for the right leg to deflate to make further studies to rule out breaks.

Here’s more from the King County Sheriff’s Office:

The two-year old boy, David, continues to recover but will likely be in the hospital for another three months.

His grandfather has been released, but the family is struggling to heal – emotionally, physically and financially.

First responders, and the public, have donated money to David’s family to help with medical and living expenses (you can help by donating online here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/1uihgsgy00).

Deputies from the Burien Police Department also purchased a replacement stroller and toys for David using their own money, and dropped it off at their apartment on Christmas day.
