Burien Police say they received a substantial increase in the number of Domestic Violence and Family Disturbance calls during the month of March, 2020.

Gov. Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order was issued on Mar. 23, and prior to that, many residents were not quarantining. However, as the COVID-19 coronavirus started to expand locally, tensions started running higher.

“Stresses brought on my our environment are not an excuse,” police said. “There is no excuse for abuse…period.”
