On Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2020 at approximately 11:38 p.m., the King County Sheriff’s Office 911 communications center received a call of a vehicle prowl that had just occurred in the 12400 block of Occidental Avenue South in Burien (map below), a contract city of the Sheriff’s Office.
The caller said she had just returned home from running an errand and discovered a female in front of her home with the caller’s vehicle door open. The female was carrying two bags and had a small or medium-sized dog with her.
When the homeowner discovered her, the woman and her dog walked away, heading northbound on Occidental Avenue South. When Burien deputies arrived, they checked the area and came across a female matching the description sitting on the stairs of a home nearby. When she spotted the deputies, she dropped her bags and ran with her dog. The deputies eventually located her hiding under a large bush. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was taken to the location of the home nearby where she was positively identified by the victim of the car prowl. The victim also identified some of her personal belongings located in the bags that were dropped in the yard.
The suspect was booked in to the SCORE (South Correctional Entity) jail for Vehicle Prowl.
As a reminder, police do not show arrestee’s faces until they are formally charged.
