Discover Burien announced on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 that Burien Pride – originally scheduled for this weekend (June 5-7, 2020) – will be postponed.

This popular event would have been the 4th annual Pride in Burien, and is a weekend filled with Music, Booths, Food and more, all in support of the LGBTQ community.

It will likely be turned into a Burien Winter Pride later this year, “where we can celebrate together and not just behind computer screens.”

On May 27, the local non-profit business organization announced cancellations of almost every other regular event in Burien this summer.

“It simply would not be responsible to gather at this time when COVID-19 has rendered King County still in Phase 1,” organizers said. “As soon as it is safe to congregate, we will be rescheduling Burien Pride – and you will be one of the first to know!”

Organizers say there are other ways people can help celebrate right now, including:

    • Pride flags along SW 152nd Street (look for them this weekend)!
    • A super-exclusive Burien Pride Happy Hour Zoom on Saturday, June 6, 2020.
    • Drive-in movie theater weekend (as soon as we can get to Level 2 recovery)

“Share your stories of Pride with us on social media @BurienPride using hashtags #BurienPride #Pride2020 #VirtualPride #RainbowPride”

“Happy Pride, Burien! We will see you soon!”
