After working six months in a 30-hour per week internship at King County, Gregory Knox of Burien graduated Friday from the Heroes Employment Reintegration Opportunity (HERO) Program.
Knox was one of six Veterans honored during a Friday afternoon ceremony in Seattle.
Funded in part by the King County Veterans and Human Services Levy, the HERO Program provides employment and support services for newly returning military veterans entering and re-entering the civilian workforce. Participants in the program receive one-on-one resume writing and job search assistance, and are mentored by a current King County employee who is also a veteran.
Knox served as a Flight Operations Manager in the U.S. Army.
At King County, he was a Veterans’ Employment Specialist where he provided assistance for veterans and their dependents moving towards self-sufficiency.
He currently works as a customer service representative at the Social Security Administration.]]>
