The Christian Science Reading Room, which has recently reopened at 441 SW 152nd Street, is a welcoming public resource for anyone interested in exploring spirituality, prayer, and healing.
You don’t need to be a Christian Scientist—or even a person of faith—to walk through the door. Visitors of all faiths, backgrounds, and walks of life are welcome. You may come in to look for a specific book, ask questions about spirituality or prayer, browse a magazine, borrow a book, sit quietly for a few minutes, or simply enjoy a peaceful place for reflection.

Christian Science Reading Rooms have been part of communities around the world for more than a century. The first was established in 1888, making Christian Science literature available to the public. Today, more than 1,500 Reading Rooms can be found worldwide. The Burien Reading Room is locally maintained by members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Burien, which is located adjacent to the Reading Room. The church and Reading Room share a desire to offer a welcoming place where people can explore spiritual ideas and discover resources that may contribute to greater peace, comfort, and healing.
