The City of Burien is updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan – a plan to reduce harm from potential hazards such as landslides and earthquakes – and will be holding an Open House on Monday, Sept. 9, 2019, from 6 – 8 p.m.

The free, open meeting will be held at Burien City Hall’s 1st Floor Multipurpose Room, located at 400 SW 152nd Street.

Free snacks and emergency supplies will be offered at both events. If you need special accommodation, please contact communications@burienwa.gov.

SECOND OPEN HOUSE SEPT. 24
A second Open House will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Para los Niños at the Burien Annex.

The public is invited to provide feedback about hazards you see in Burien and ways the City or other government agencies can help protect the community from risk. Community input will be included in the City’s hazard mitigation plan that will be submitted to King County.

La ciudad de Burien está actualizando el Plan de mitigación de riesgos, un plan para reducir los daños causados por posibles peligros como deslizamientos de tierra y terremotos. Se invita al público a brindar su opinión sobre los riesgos que perciben en Burien y las formas en que la ciudad u otras agencias gubernamentales pueden ayudar a proteger a la comunidad de estos riesgos. Los comentarios de la comunidad se incluirán en el Plan de mitigación de riesgos de la ciudad que se presentará al condado de King.
