House earthquake.

The City of Burien is updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan – a plan to reduce harm from potential hazards such as landslides and earthquakes – and is inviting the public to provide feedback about hazards you see in Burien and ways the City or other government agencies can help protect the community from risk.

Community input will be included in the City’s hazard mitigation plan that will be submitted to King County, and there are two Open Houses – Monday, Sept. 9 and Tuesday, Sept. 24:

WHAT: Hazard Mitigation Plan Open House #1

WHEN: Monday, Sept. 9, 6–8 p.m.

WHERE: Burien City Hall, 1st Floor Multipurpose Room, 400 SW 152nd St, Burien

WHAT: Hazard Mitigation Plan Open House #2

WHEN: Tuesday, Sept. 24, 6:30–8:30 p.m.

WHERE: Para los Niños, Burien Annex, 425 SW 144th St, Burien

Spanish language interpretation provided.

Free snacks and emergency supplies will be offered at both events. If you need special accommodation, please contact communications@burienwa.gov.
