The City of Burien’s Spray Park located at Town Square Park will hopefully reopen by July 15, the city said.

As we previously reported, the park has been closed since sustaining substantial water damage in its control vault and the fountain’s electrical system, including pumps.

Electrical components of the park were damaged earlier this year, assessment of the damage has been made, and parts have been ordered and received.

The City is soliciting an electrical contract to have the necessary repairs completed.

“While it was hoped that repairs could be completed by the end of June 2019, it appears additional time will be needed for repairs to be completed,” the city said. “Our goal is to have the spray park reopened prior to July 15, 2019.”

This spray park has had many problems over the years, from vandalism to numerous repair issues.
