King County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and multiple emergency crews responded to serious collision that sent three to the hospital Thursday afternoon, July 18, 2024 at SW 125th Street & Shorewood Drive SW in Burien (map below).

King County Fire District No. 2 was also on the scene, along with additional units.

Police said that three occupants of the vehicle that crashed were removed from the vehicle, which came to rest against some trees that prevented it from going down a steep embankment.

Puget Sound Fire said that one person was treated for critical injuries and two others were treated for serious injuries.

All three were transported to a Seattle area hospital by medic units.

If you appreciate our award-winning, local, independent journalism:
  • A vehicle, shown in photos provided by Puget Sound Fire, appears to have crashed off the road into a wooded area.
  • The car, a silver sedan, is severely damaged with its rear section crushed and what appears to be part of a fence protruding through the car and out the back.
  • Both rear doors are open, indicating possible emergency response activities.
  • The vehicle has come to a stop against trees, suggesting it veered off the roadway and down an embankment.
  • The scene is surrounded by dense foliage, and the incident likely required significant effort from emergency services to secure and manage.

At this time, there is no information available as to the ages or the extent of injuries to the victims.

The collision will be investigated by KCSO’s Major Accident Response & Reconstruction (MARR) unit.

“As of now I cannot confirm any additional vehicles involved,” Eric White-Sergeant, Public Information Officer for KCSO told The B-Town Blog. “We hope to have more information later.”

No KCSO Public Information Officer is on scene or is expected soon.

This is a developing story, and as we learn more, we’ll update this post.

  1. Hello. Our family and neighbors did our best to help the passengers until the emergency crews arrived. We feel terrible for them, particularly the lady that was critically injured. It’s been hard not to think about them constantly and if you have any updates regarding their condition, particularly hers, we would appreciate it. I would love to tell my wife and son that she is stable, if that is the case. Thank you!
