A 21-year-old man was arrested Thursday night, May 8, 2025 after allegedly ramming multiple parked vehicles and attempting to run someone over near the Marina Condos in Des Moines.

Police were dispatched to the area of South 226th Street and 6th Ave South (map below) around 8:41 p.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a black Ford F-150 driving erratically and hitting parked cars (see videos below).

One caller reported seeing the driver attempt to run over a person.

Several bystanders intervened, stopping the truck and pulling the driver from the vehicle. A struggle ensued, but the group was able to restrain the driver until officers arrived.

An investigation determined the driver struck seven vehicles during the incident.

No injuries were reported.

The driver was arrested for investigation of DUI, reckless endangerment and hit-and-run. After a DUI blood draw, he was booked into King County Jail.
