South King Fire and Rescue crews, along with the Fire Boat Zenith, responded to a reported boat fire near the Des Moines Marina on Tuesday morning, Dec. 10, 2024.
The incident – initially believed to be a fire – occurred near 22307 Dock Avenue South (map below), and prompted a swift response from multiple emergency units.
Upon arrival, crews determined there was no fire aboard the vessel.
Instead, the boat had lost engine power and required assistance.
Emergency responders made contact with the vessel and ensured the safety of its occupants.
The call was closed after 46 minutes, with no injuries or further incidents reported.
