Des Moines Police Department’s Street Crimes Detectives recently assisted the FBI and other jurisdictions in a sting operation, which involved conducting counter sex-trafficking operations in South King County to identify, recover sex trafficking victims, gather street-intelligence and arrest pimps who promote prostitution.

Police say that there were six arrests for prostitution, three of which were made by DMPD Officers.

One of the subjects was a 16-year-old.

Subjects spoke with a victim specialist for assistance and were all interviewed.

Des Moines Police took primary lead for this case and arrested a suspect who was involved with facilitating commercial sex abuse of a minor/prostitution in the 2nd Degree, and has now been charged for Promoting Commercial Sexual Abuse of a Minor.

In addition, DMPD detectives conducted a “John” sting on Pacific Hwy S., where they made seven arrests.

“No buyers, No Business” they said.
