A man was killed Wednesday night, April 2, 2025 following a head-on crash involving a stolen vehicle near Tukwila International Boulevard and South 116th Street (map below), Tukwila Police said.

Officers responded to the scene around 11 p.m. and found one driver critically injured and trapped inside a vehicle. The victim was taken to a hospital but later died of his injuries, according to the Tukwila Police Department.

The other driver fled the scene on foot, police said.

The vehicle he was driving had been reported stolen.

A K-9 unit, drone team, and King County Sheriff’s Office Guardian One helicopter were deployed to assist in the search.

After about 90 minutes, officers located the suspect hiding in thick brush. Emergency crews had to use a fire department chainsaw to clear a path to the area.

Police said the suspect ignored commands and K-9 warnings before the dog was deployed to take him into custody.

The suspect was booked into jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide.

The Tukwila Police Department Traffic Unit is leading the investigation.
