A suspect in a Burien residential burglary was arrested Tuesday, July 28 after a SeaTac deputy spotted the suspect vehicle, leading to a pursuit that ended in a crash and K-9 apprehension, according to the Burien Police Department.
Deputies responded at about 4:30 a.m. to a report of a residential burglary, police said. During the investigation, they learned surveillance footage from the area had captured the suspects leaving in a vehicle.
Deputies obtained the vehicle’s license plate and distributed the information to surrounding units, according to police.
At about 6 p.m., a SeaTac deputy spotted the suspect vehicle traveling in the area and initiated a traffic stop, police said. The driver did not stop and fled, leading deputies on a pursuit.
The pursuit ended when the suspect lost control of the vehicle and crashed, according to police. The suspect then attempted to run away on foot.
A pursuing deputy who was a K-9 handler deployed a police dog after a brief foot pursuit, and the suspect was apprehended, police said.
The suspect was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of residential burglary, attempting to elude a police vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle and several additional felony charges, according to police.
“This arrest was made possible through teamwork, from the witnesses who called 911 and provided valuable information, to the Deputies from multiple jurisdictions who assisted throughout the investigation and pursuit,” police said in a statement.
Those so-called evil invasive cameras sure do work good after all.
