Burien Police arrested a burglary suspect earlier this week after locating the individual in a nearby park following a search involving additional deputies and a K9 unit, according to the Burien Police Department.

Deputies responded to a reported burglary after police said a male suspect broke into an apartment by cutting through a window screen to gain entry.

When deputies arrived, the suspect had already fled the area, according to police. Deputies coordinated additional resources, including a K9 unit, to assist in the search.

Through their investigation, deputies identified the suspect and searched the surrounding area before locating the individual in a nearby park, police said.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident and booked into jail for burglary.

“This incident is a good reminder to ensure windows and entry points are secured, and to report any suspicious activity in your area,” the Burien Police Department said in a statement.
