A suspect arrested as part of a King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) investigation into a narcotics trafficking operation has been sentenced to five and a half years in federal prison, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The conviction stems from “Operation Bandit,” a multi-month investigation conducted by the Southwest Precinct’s Special Emphasis Team (run out of Burien) into a commercial vehicle trafficking ring that transported narcotics from California to Washington.

According to police, investigators intercepted nearly $1.5 million worth of illegal drugs that were destined for Burien:

  • 37.4 pounds Fentanyl powder
  • 3.02 pounds Methamphetamine
  • 1.38 pounds Heroin
  • $34,258 cash seized
  • 1 gun seized (serial number removed)

The Sheriff’s Office said the suspect was originally arrested in January 2024. The federal prison sentence was recently imposed following the completion of the case.

“Representing this team, as always, the most popular member of the squad: K9 Quinn,” police said in a statement.

KCSO announced the sentencing this week, describing it as the latest result from the team’s efforts to disrupt narcotics trafficking operations affecting South King County communities.
