The Seattle 48 Hour Film Project this week announced it will be holding its first-ever Washington Creatives Bake Sale on Sunday, Dec. 15, from Noon – 5 p.m.

This will be a gathering of Washington’s creative arts nonprofits, hosted with generous support from the Seattle Film Office and M5 Creative.

Set to take place from 12-5 p.m. at M5 Creative (401 Mercer Street, Seattle; map below), this event aims to bring together arts organizations, community members, and local sponsors in a celebration of creativity, community, and collaboration.

Why a Bake Sale?

In an era when arts funding has become challenging to secure, the Washington Creatives Bake Sale is a grassroots response to the support our arts community needs. Much like a high school drama club rallying resources with a bake sale, this event humorously but earnestly reflects the resilient spirit of our state’s creative sector. Participating organizations will showcase baked goods, crafts, and creative products, all while highlighting the indispensable role of the arts in our communities. Proceeds from each organization’s table go directly to that organization, fostering mutual support within the arts.

Event Highlights:

  • Showcase & Fundraise: Local creative nonprofits will host tables featuring baked goods, crafts, and unique items, with all proceeds supporting each organization’s mission.
  • Silent Auction & Raffle: Participating organizations are encouraged to contribute items, such as gift certificates, creative services, or themed gifts for the raffle and auction. Raffle proceeds will be shared among contributors, and each silent auction item’s earnings will go to the providing organization.
  • Sponsors Welcome: Private and public agencies are invited to sponsor a table for a nonprofit, attend the event, and connect with attendees. Sponsor organizations are encouraged to provide baked goods and contribute to the silent auction or raffle.
