Residents of Burien are invited to kick off Independence Day celebrations early with a free neighborhood picnic on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Glen Acres Church of Christ (map below).

The community event will feature a barbecue, yard games such as croquet, badminton and volleyball, and the chance to connect with neighbors in a casual and festive setting.

Organizers are encouraging residents to attend and enjoy food, fun, and community togetherness.

“This is about bringing people together to celebrate summer, friendship, and the Fourth of July spirit,” said organizer Jeff Hoffelner. “It’s a great chance to meet neighbors, relax outdoors, and enjoy some classic picnic fun.”

The event is free and open to the public.

For questions or additional information, community members can reach out to Hoffelner at jeff.hoffelner@outlook.com or 425-235-6174.
