Individuals and families can visit Southcenter Mall now to file their tax returns at no cost to them, with United Way of King County’s Free Tax Preparation.
The service will be available until Thursday, April 20, 2023, providing IRS-certified volunteers as well as access to additional resources that may be valuable for clients.
The Free Tax Preparation service is offered for those who have an income ceiling of $80k and is available to most taxpayers, including those that are self-employed. The *completely free* service allows people to maximize refunds by claiming all the tax credits they qualify for, including the new Working Family Tax Credit as well as Economic Impact Payments set to expire this year and next. Never filed a tax return before? No problem! You can today, and still qualify to receive stimulus payments owed to you.
United Way of King County also offers support with getting an ITIN. This is important because undocumented individuals with an ITIN can apply for the Working Family Tax Credit, too.
- United Way of King County’s Free Tax Preparation is located at the southwest entrance between Sears and AT&T.
- No appointment is needed.
- It requires about one hour to complete your tax filing, and it’s suggested to file sooner than later to minimize lines or wait times.
