At least two police reports were filed Sunday morning, May 11, 2025 by victim families who were targeted with hate speech crimes in Burien’s Boulevard Park neighborhood.
A normally quiet neighborhood, residents on S. 128th and S. 129th Streets awoke to black spray painted hate speech on their homes and vehicles. Cameras were sprayed as well. Phallic depictions and swastikas, along with racial slurs, were painted on property belonging to people of color and LGBTQ+ homeowners. A pro-women’s rights bumper sticker was removed from one of the bumpers and thrown on the ground beside one of the tagged vehicles.
Burien Police estimate the hate crimes occurred overnight between the hours of 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.
The B-Town Blog confirmed with affected residents Sunday that at least two lesbian households and one Kenyan household were targeted and tagged during the hate speech crime spree. It is unclear how the suspects identified the victims’ homes or why these households were targeted.
The images and profanities used in all three incidents appeared to be left by the same criminals.
