Highline Heritage Museum will host a free children’s program about firefighters from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19.

The event, titled “Firefighters to the Rescue,” is geared toward children ages 2-8 and their families. Siblings are welcome.

This event will take place a week after King County Fire District’s Kids’ Day on Saturday, Sept. 12.

According to event information, Teacher Nikki will lead participants through a firefighter story, a fire truck song and a lesson about how animals help forests recover after a forest fire.

The program also will include hands-on activities, puzzles and firefighter exercises.
