Burien’s Highline Heritage Museum will celebrate the 118th birthday of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo with a community festival featuring art, music, food and family activities on Saturday, July 11.
The event will run from Noon to 4 p.m. at the museum and will include an art market, food vendors, children’s activities and games, musical performances and a lecture about Kahlo’s life.
The festival will also feature a Tehuana vestidos exhibit highlighting the traditional dresses associated with the region of Mexico that influenced Kahlo’s signature style.
According to the museum, the event is intended to commemorate Kahlo’s birthday while celebrating art, culture and community through a variety of activities for visitors of all ages.

Watch Party Starts at 2 p.m.
In addition to the cultural programming, the museum will host an outdoor FIFA World Cup quarterfinal watch party beginning at 2 p.m.
