CHI Franciscan’s Highline Medical Center celebrated its 60th anniversary on Friday, July 20, 2018.
The event recognized the high-quality care provided by Highline Medical Center employees since 1958. Over the past 60 years, the Highline community has experienced exceptional growth and the medical center has continued to expand its care to meet the increasing needs of the community.
CHI Franciscan CEO, Ketul Patel and Burien Mayor, Jimmy Matta, who declared July 2018 as ‘Highline Medical Center Month,’ kicked-off the event. During his opening remarks, Mr. Patel discussed the importance of providing high quality care in local communities and CHI Franciscan’s plans to continue investing in the greater Burien community.
The event boasted various activities for attendees and the community. Most notably, the Teddy Bear Clinic. Children took their beloved stuffed animals to the clinic to get health checkups from Highline Community College nursing students. Nursing students checked the stuffed animal’s heartbeat, temperature, and patched up “owies.”
