Highline Public Schools announced this week that it has been selected by DonorsChoose.org as one of its first partner school districts.

“The official partnership between the fundraising non-profit and Highline will help ensure funding goals are in sync with district strategy and operations,” the district said in a statement.

Here’s more info from the district:

As a member of the DonorsChoose.org District Partnership Program, Highline will be able to fully support teachers in the use of the platform, ensure safety and security, and align efforts with the district’s strategic priorities. Highline will be able to track donated materials and receive early notification when there are new match funding opportunities. Principals will be notified each time a project is funded.

The fundraising site helps teachers tap into a network of 3.5 million donors. Teachers can go to DonorsChoose.org to request the materials and experiences they want most for their classrooms. Donors in turn can give to the projects that inspire them.

To date, teachers in Highline have raised $2.1 million and completed more than 3,300 projects on DonorsChoose.org. These projects vary from books to laptops and other tools to enhance the learning environment and support student success. Potential donors can find a list of all Highline Public Schools projects on the Donors Choose website (donorschoose.org/highline).
