A house fire was extinguished early on Friday morning, Sept. 8, 2023 in the Hurstwood neighborhood of Burien.

Reports are that 12-13 units responded to the blaze, which started around 1 a.m.

Both residents were able to evacuate safely, and fire crews from King County Fire District No. 2 extinguished the flames that originated on the second floor of the home.

“Neighbors were instrumental in calling 911, allowing fire crews to save a large portion of the home from further damage,” said Ray Desmarais, Assistant Chief/Fire Marshal.

This was an accidental fire, as determined by the King County Fire Investigation Unit.

“Big applause to the fire response to house fire above Seahurst Park in Hurstwood,” said a neighbor.
