Burien’s Kennedy Catholic High Lancers (11-0) will take on the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups in a highly anticipated Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) 4A state playoff football game this Friday night, Nov. 22, 2024 with a 6 p.m. kickoff at Highline Memorial Stadium.

The second round “win or go home” playoff matchup features these two undefeated teams vying to move onto the state semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 30.

Gonzaga Prep, hailing from Spokane, has showcased a balanced offensive attack this season, averaging 207.2 rushing yards and 123.9 passing yards per game. The Bullpups have outscored opponents 404 to 149, demonstrating a robust defense alongside their potent offense.

Kennedy Catholic boasts a high-powered offense, averaging 46.5 points per game. The Lancers have accumulated 511 points while allowing just 98, highlighting their defensive prowess. Their scoring distribution includes an average of 14.9 points in the first quarter and 20.8 in the second, often establishing early leads.

Both teams have maintained perfect records, with Gonzaga Prep holding a 5-0 district mark and Kennedy Catholic at 7-0.

Winner Goes to Semifinals on Nov. 30

The winner of this semifinal will advance to the WIAA 4A state semifinal game on Nov. 30, bringing them one step closer to vying for the big state championship game at Husky Stadium on Dec. 7 (see full WIAA brackets here).
