Earlier this month, the King County Sheriff’s Office Gun Violence Reduction Unit (GVRU), partnering with neighboring law enforcement agencies, ran a two-day operation culminating in the service of several search and arrest warrants related to a stolen vehicle.

These warrants led to the arrest of four (4) juveniles and one (1) adult. During the arrests, the following firearms, and items (pictured) were recovered:

  • A Glock handgun, which had been converted to a machine gun.
  • A ‘Ghost gun’.
  • A Glock handgun, stolen in a burglary.
  • A short barrel rifle.
  • Body armor.
  • Numerous large-capacity magazines.
  • Ammunition.
  • A total of six (6) handguns and one (1) rifle were seized.

This operation was conducted in coordination with the Renton Police Department, Kent Police Department, King County Sheriff’s Office SWAT, along with Detectives from King County Metro PD, Sound Transit PD, SeaTac PD, and Burien Police Department.

“The King County Sheriff’s Office is committed to removing illegal firearms from the streets of our community,” police said. “With the establishment of the GVRU, this will be one of many operations to address gun violence in our neighborhoods.”
