The King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) this week arrested a suspect involved in a homicide that occurred in Burien on Feb. 12, 2023.

As we previously reported, the fatal shooting took place just after 10 p.m. at the 76 gas station in the 14800 block of 1st Ave South in Burien.

Deputies responded to the area and found a male adult victim who had been shot.

Despite medical aid being administered at the scene, the victim passed away from his injuries.

Immediately after the shooting, the suspect fled the scene. While KCSO deputies and K9’s conducted an active search of the area, they were unable to locate him. Major Crimes detectives responded to the scene and continued the investigation.

The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office filed a Murder in the Second Degree charge last month when the defendant was at large. The case was filed with a firearm enhancement.

On the evening of Tuesday, Mar. 7, 2023, the suspect was located in the city of Seattle by Metro Transit Street Crimes Unit, who coordinated with King County Major Crimes and Burien Precinct 4 Street Crimes Unit detectives, and Metro to assist in his arrest. As the suspect was possibly armed and had already committed a homicide, King County TAC-30 was also called in to assist with the arrest.

Police say that the King County TAC-30 team took the suspect into custody in the City of Seattle without incident. He was later booked into King County Jail for homicide.
