All Highline High School alumni and community members are invited for a last tour and celebration of the old school from 1 – 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 18.
Organizers will take a photograph of all alumni present in front of the north wall at 3 p.m., as well as other photographs as requested, which will be available online.
Main areas of the school will be open for touring, such as the gym, library, cafetorium and a classroom in the oldest wing.
As we’ve previously reported, the school – first opened in 1924 – will be torn down, and a brand new campus will be built starting this summer, with a projected opening of fall 2021.
Displays of the new school design and the interim school site will be available to view.
Cookies and coffee will be served.
HHS gear will be for sale by the HHS Booster Club and the student-run Key Club. A garage sale of ASB items is planned.
Parking will be available east and north of the school, by the Performing Arts Center, as well as in the lot west of the school. (An all-day track & field event is scheduled at Memorial Stadium, so parking in the Moshier lots may be less available.)
If you are interested in helping plan the event, have memorabilia to share or a story to tell, please email keepingourpromise@highlineschools.org.
