Strong Schools Help Build a Strong Highline Community

As business owners in the Highline area, we think a lot about what makes a community strong.

It is the people who walk through our doors. It is the families who choose to live here, work here, shop here, and raise their children here. It is the employees who help our businesses run, the neighbors who support local shops and restaurants, and the students who will one day become our future workers, customers, homeowners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.

That is why we are supporting Yes for Highline and voting yes on Propositions 1 and 2 by November 3.

This election is about students, first and foremost. Highline students deserve safe, healthy schools where they can learn and prepare for their futures. Too many students are learning in aging buildings that were not built for today’s classrooms or tomorrow’s opportunities. They deserve better and these issues cannot wait.

But this vote is also about the kind of community we want Highline to be.

Strong schools help create strong, vibrant communities. They help families feel confident putting down roots here. They help neighborhoods stay healthy. They help local businesses attract and keep employees. They help protect the value of the homes, public buildings, and community assets we all share.

When families look at where to live, schools matter. When businesses look at where to invest, the strength of the community matters. When young people graduate prepared for college, careers, trades, and life, our local economy benefits.

Proposition 1 would help rebuild aging schools, address critical repairs, improve safety and accessibility, and create better learning spaces for students. Proposition 2 would help keep schools connected, secure, and ready for learning with reliable technology, cybersecurity, communication systems, and support for day-to-day school operations.

As business owners, we know the cost of waiting. Small problems do not usually get cheaper when they are ignored. Roofs, heating systems, plumbing, electrical systems, technology, and security needs all require responsible planning. Investing now helps protect the schools our community depends on and supports the students who depend on them every day.

We are proud to run businesses in this community. We believe in Highline students, and we believe strong public schools are one of the best investments we can make in the future of our neighborhoods.

Please join us in voting yes on Propositions 1 and 2 by November 3.
